BRIDGE OF EARN — Flood warnings have been in place along parts of the River Earn and the River Isla after heavy weekend rain. Please check SEPA’s flood updates and don’t drive through floodwater.

The fictional Perthetic hydrologist described the rivers as “ambitious”. “They see the fields and they think, ‘that could be river’,” he said. “It’s ambition, but in the wrong direction.”

Farmers in the Carse said their fields were “currently more of a lake with ideas”.
