PERTH — St Johnstone go to Ibrox on Saturday sitting fifth in the Premiership, and supporters are urged to “take a long, last, loving look at the table” before kick-off.
“I’ve had it laminated,” said one fan. “It’s on the fridge. My wife wanted the grandchildren’s drawings back up and I said, ‘They’ll draw more pictures. We’ll not always be fifth.'”
One Perth man reportedly refreshed the league table 400 times on Sunday, “in case it had changed, which it can’t, because nobody was playing.”
Travelling fans have been advised: bring a flask, keep expectations modest, and remember that “a point at Ibrox is a holiday, and a win is a public holiday.”
The real story: St Johnstone 5th on 12 points; next: Rangers away, 24 Oct (Sky Sports)
