PERTH — We mark the closure of McNab’s Umbrella Repairs, which mended Perth’s broken brollies for 74 years and survived every storm, only to close after Thursday’s bright spells left it with no customers for a whole morning.
“It was the shock,” said a regular. “He’d never had a quiet hour. He just sat there in the sunlight, holding a spoke, and said ‘well, that’s that’.”
It is survived by 600 umbrellas, all slightly inside out.

No letters yet. The town is uncharacteristically quiet.
