The Sun Sets at 4:29pm Today; Perth Office Workers Leave in Daylight for the Last Time Until February and Take Photographs of It
Sunrise at 07:24, sunset at 16:29. Perth's daylight is now officially part-time.

The sun will rise over Perth at 07:24 this morning and set at 16:29 this afternoon, according to the Met Office, giving the city just over nine hours of daylight.
That number will keep shrinking until late December, and Perth’s office workers have noticed.
“I finish at half four,” said an insurance clerk who works near the Inches. “Today I’ll walk out and the sun will be just going down. By next week, it’ll be dark. I’ll not see daylight on a weekday again until about February. I’ve taken a photo of the sun so I’ll remember what it looks like.”
A man in Craigie has calculated that, with a 9am to 5pm job, he now gets about 45 minutes of daylight on weekdays, “most of which I spend at the kettle”.
Lighting experts recommend that people get outside at lunchtime to make the most of the light. Perth’s office workers say they would love to, but lunchtime is when they go to the shops to buy things for the dark.
The Perthetic notes that the days start getting longer again on 22 December. Only 50 days to go. We’ve started a calendar. It’s on the fridge.

I finish at five. I saw it set from the photocopier. It was lovely. Then I photocopied it.

I leave at 4. I’ll be the last person in Perth to see daylight on a weekday. I’m going to wave.
