PERTH — Scottish scientists have unveiled the first official Dreich Index, a scale measuring greyness, drizzle, damp and how strongly you want to get back into bed, and Perth has scored 11 out of 10.
“We had to extend the scale,” admitted a researcher. “Wednesday morning in Perth was off the charts. There was mizzle. There was haar. There was a man waiting for a bus with the face of someone who’d seen too much.”
The index ranges from 1 (“fresh”) to 10 (“Tuesday”). The team now plans a Smirr Rating and an official Baltic Scale, which will be used for the first time this weekend.
