PERTH — St Johnstone have lodged a formal complaint with the football authorities claiming the wind at McDiarmid Park has been “consistently playing for the visiting team” this season.
“We kick into it in the first half. Then it changes ends at half-time. That is not weather. That is tactics,” said a source at the club. “We’ve asked VAR to look at it. VAR said it couldn’t see it. That’s because it’s wind.”
Supporters back the club. “I’ve seen it,” said a fan from Luncarty. “It goes to the dugout, has a word with the away manager, then comes back round. It’s in somebody’s pocket.”
The Met Office has declined to comment on the wind’s transfer status.
