A convoy system with a 10mph limit is operating on the A922 The Muirs in Kinross until 6 November, giving local drivers the rare experience of being escorted through their own town like visiting dignitaries.
“I felt like a president,” said a Milnathort woman. “There was a vehicle in front with a sign. I sat up straighter. I nearly waved.”
Several residents along the route have begun waving back, and one has put out bunting, which is either for the convoy or left over from the summer fete.
Drivers are asked to follow the lead vehicle, keep to the limit and resist the urge to overtake, however confident they feel.

The views expressed are those of the reader, and frankly that's on them.
No letters yet. The town is uncharacteristically quiet.
