The phase two closure of the A93 Blairgowrie Road in Perth has reached its third day, with buses diverted via Beeches Road and Emma Street, and the residents of those streets say they are adjusting well.
“I know them all now,” said one Beeches Road resident. “There’s Gary on the early one, a woman called Lorraine on the half-nine, and a young lad who looks about 12 on the afternoon one. I’ve started making them tea.”
The diversion means some services can’t call at the community hospital stop as normal, and passengers are being advised to check with operators before travelling.
The works are due to last eight days, after which the buses will return to the main road and Beeches Road residents say they will “miss the company”. One has asked whether she can keep Lorraine.

I’ve made Lorraine three teas. She’s lovely. She’s mine now.

Took the bus to the hospital and ended up on a tour of Emma Street. Very nice street, actually.
