Pool Row Continues: Alternative Vision vs Thimblerow Plan Debated Without Anyone Agreeing What ‘Feasible’ Means
Campaigners push Glover Street concept; council calls for hard evidence; public still wants somewhere to swim.

PERTH — The long-running row over Perth’s leisure future continued this week as campaigners promoting an alternative concept at Glover Street clashed with council officials over the £74m PH2O Thimblerow project planned on a popular car park.
Briefings to councillors described the alternative as highly conceptual, lacking detailed feasibility work, while campaigners said their petition expresses public concern and a wish for options to be examined — not a promise that drawings are shovel-ready.
Perthetic will not name the individuals involved. We will note that everyone claims to want a pool, nobody wants to lose a car park, and the word “irresponsible” has been used in a meeting in a way that pleased approximately nobody.
Residents continue to swim where they can and argue where they must.
The real story: Real: Courier 22 Oct — council/campaigners row over PH2O vs Glover Street alternative; no individuals named here

I just want to swim. Is that so much to ask.

Argue about car parks on your own time. Build a pool on ours.

We’ve got pools. You’re welcome. Bring a towel and an apology.
