‘Open for Business’ Signs Prove So Popular the Signs Want Their Own Shop

Council signage for traders near the cordon is a hit; please do actually go shopping.

PERTH — The council’s plan to put up “Open for Business” signs for shops in the pedestrian zone near the chimney cordon has been a success, with the signs themselves reportedly so enthused that they have asked about a lease.

“We’re open,” one sign insisted. “We’ve never been more open.” Shoppers are urged to take the signs at their word: the businesses near South Methven Street are trading, would like to see you, and have been very good about the whole thing.

Perthetic’s serious bit: go and buy a coffee, a book or a sausage roll there this weekend.

The real story: Real: Perth and Kinross Council to install 'Open for Business' signage for businesses in the pedestrian access zone (The Courier).

  1. Went in for a coffee, came out with a scarf and three cakes. Doing my bit.
