PERTH — A three-year-old visitor to Perth Museum has delivered what experts are calling “the most honest review of the Stone of Destiny in 700 years”, after loudly announcing to a queue of reverent tourists that it was “basically a rock”.
“There was a hush,” said a visitor from Ohio. “Then a man from Kinross said ‘aye, but it’s OUR rock’ and everyone clapped.”
The museum, which is also currently showing a major Isaac Julien film installation, said it was delighted that visitors of all ages were engaging with the collection. “Some people see 1,000 years of history,” said a staff member. “Some people see a big brick. Both are welcome. Neither may lick it.”
The toddler later reviewed the café scones as “better than the rock”, which staff have taken as a high compliment.
