PERTH — The health board and the Scottish Government have both confirmed there are no plans to close the emergency department at Perth Royal Infirmary, news greeted with relief across the city, particularly among DIY enthusiasts.
“I’ve been in four times this year,” said a Scone man. “Stepladder, hedge trimmer, a wardrobe from a flat-pack shop, and a very aggressive goose. I’d hate to have to explain the goose in Dundee.”
Staff at PRI, who do brilliant work and have no need of jokes from us, were thanked by everyone. The goose has not commented.

Thank goodness. My husband and his ladder are on first-name terms with the staff.

Yous could always come to Ninewells. We’d make you welcome. Mostly.

@Tam that’s very kind but I’d rather fall off the ladder in Perth.
