PERTH — A planning application to turn 23 St John Street from retail into escape rooms has been validated, prompting locals to point out that Perth has been running a free escape room for years: it is called “trying to leave the Broxden roundabout”.
Puzzles reportedly under consideration include “Find a Parking Space on a Saturday”, “Leave Before the Rain Starts” and the fiendish “Get Out of Scott Street Car Park This Week”, which designers admit is currently unsolvable.
The real story: Real: planning application 26/01476/FLL, change of use from retail to escape rooms, 23 St John Street Perth, validated 23 Oct 2026.

Can the first room be the Broxden roundabout? I’ll pay double.

Done it already. Took me 47 minutes to get out of the Thimblerow car park.
