PERTH — Inspired by two men in London jousting on rental e-bikes in full plate armour, a group of Perth pensioners has proposed a more dignified local version: mobility scooters, at dawn, on the North Inch, where the famous Battle of the Clans was fought in 1396.
“We’ve got the history,” said an organiser. “We’ve got the space. And we’ve got the scooters. They do eight miles an hour. That’s plenty fast when you’ve got a baguette pointed at you.”
Council officials have asked that nobody be harmed. Organisers have confirmed baguettes will be “yesterday’s, so soft”.

No letters yet. The town is uncharacteristically quiet.
