Met Office Says Visibility ‘Excellent’; Perth Climbs Kinnoull Hill, Sees Dundee, Says It Looks Smaller Than It Expected
On a clear Sunday you can see for miles from Perth. Dundee, it has been confirmed, can also see Perth.

The Met Office says visibility in Perth will be “excellent” today, and the city has responded by heading up Kinnoull Hill to look at things a very long way away.
“You can see the whole Carse of Gowrie, the Tay, the Sidlaws, and Dundee,” said a hillwalker from Bridgend. “Dundee looked fine. A bit smaller than I’d heard. I think they talk it up.”
Another walker said she could see the Ochils, the Lomonds and “a man in Errol hanging out his washing”. “He waved,” she said. “I think. It might have been a sheet.”
Visibility experts say that on days like this, high pressure keeps the air clean and dry, giving long views. Perth experts say it means you can see the rain coming in for Wednesday, if you look hard enough.
Dundee was asked whether it could see Perth today. A Dundee man said: “Aye. Looks wee.” Perth has decided not to rise to it.

I’ve seen Dundee. Now I’ve seen it from far away. I prefer it from far away.

You can see Lochnagar on a clear day. You can see the Tay. You can see the queue at the Broxden McDonald’s, which is the one you really want to avoid.
