Bonfire Night Forecast: Cloudy, 11°C, Rain Mainly at Lunchtime; Perth Dogs Hope It Rains at 7pm Instead
Thursday looks overcast, with a 30% chance of showers around midday. Firework fans are happy. Spaniels are not.

Bonfire Night falls on Thursday this year, and the Met Office says it will be overcast with a high of 11°C and a 30% chance of rain around the middle of the day, drying up later.
That is good news for anyone planning to watch fireworks, and bad news for Perth’s dogs, who had been hoping for a downpour.
“He’s been listening to the forecast,” said the owner of a cocker spaniel in Letham. “When it said 30%, he went under the bed. He can’t count, but he knows what 30% means. It means 70% fireworks.”
Fireworks fans say the conditions are ideal. “Cloudy is fine,” said a Scone man. “Low cloud, the bangs echo. It’s like a concert, but nobody plays Wonderwall.”
The Perthetic reminds readers to be careful around bonfires and to keep pets indoors. Dogs across Perth have asked that this advice be repeated at least four more times this week.

Our Bella says she’d like it to rain from 5 to 10pm, thank you very much. She’s a spaniel and she’s very clear about it.

Rain at lunchtime is the best kind. Dry by the bonfire, wet for the work run. Perfect.

Every year I buy a big bag of sparklers and every year it rains. If it’s dry this year I won’t know what to do.
