While Perthshire debates whether a Christmas display in October is too early, Brenda Fairweather of Scone has only one view: it’s far too late.
“My tree went up on the 14th of July,” said Brenda, 66, adjusting a light-up reindeer in the front window. “I’ve already done Boxing Day. I had the leftover turkey in August.”
Her husband Jim says the tinsel in their hallway “never fully comes down”, and that he once found a bauble in his golf bag in May.
Brenda plans to visit Glendoick this week anyway, “for research”, and to check whether their reindeer are “as good as mine, which they won’t be”.
