Big Eck Robertson of North Muirton has held a St Johnstone season ticket for 22 years and has left every home game in the 85th minute “to beat the traffic”.
Last night he heard the roar for Josh Campbell’s 93rd-minute header from the car park, standing beside his car, keys in hand.
“Twenty-two years,” said Eck, 58. “Twenty-two years of late goals heard from a Ford Mondeo. I’ve never seen one. I’ve heard them all. I’m like a radio commentator who lives in a car park.”
His wife Sheena has suggested he stay to the end at Kilmarnock on Saturday. Eck says he will “consider it, depending on the traffic”.

Eck, if you’re reading this, we saved you a pie. It’s cold now.

In fairness to Eck, he’s never missed the traffic. Only the goals.
