There was good news for loyalty at McDiarmid Park last night, as St Johnstone supporters who stayed to the very end were rewarded with Josh Campbell’s late equaliser against Motherwell.

“I was halfway down the stairs,” admitted a fan from Luncarty. “I heard the roar, turned round and fell up three steps. Never leaving early again. Never.”

Simo Valakari praised his substitutes, and Saints fans praised each other, at length, in the car park, in the pub and in group chats until about 1am.

Next stop: Kilmarnock on Saturday. Arrive on time. Stay until the end. Bring a flask.

The views expressed are those of the reader, and frankly that's on them.

  1. Showed this to my husband. He says he left at 85 minutes to ‘beat the traffic’. There was no traffic.

  2. Lesson learned. I’m now bringing a flask and staying until they switch the lights off.
