VisitScotland's top-six list sends visitors to Perthshire's waterfalls, and past the shop, inevitably.

BLAIR ATHOLL — The Falls of Bruar has been named among Scotland’s six best autumn walks, a ranking greeted locally with Perthshire’s highest praise: “Aye, it’s no’ bad.”
“Same route every day for decades,” said one Blair Atholl man. “Same falls. Same bit at the top where you think you’ve found a short cut and you haven’t. One of the best six in Scotland? Probably. But I’d not want a fuss.”
The trail sits beside a famous shopping stop, making it “the only walk in Scotland where you can admire nature and then buy a £200 cashmere throw in the same afternoon.” Visitors are advised to wear good boots and avoid “just having a look” in the food hall, from which some have never emerged.
Asked which of the other five walks was best, he thought for a long time. “Never been. Why would I? I’ve got the Bruar.”
