Johnstone Burgh have been scheduled to play two cup ties at the same time, a fixture clash that has impressed Perthshire’s amateur football community, which has been trying to achieve the same thing on a Sunday morning for years.
Coaches in Perth were quick to offer advice. “Split the squad. Put your fast lads in one game and your talkers in the other,” said a Letham coach. “And one of you’s got to run the line at both. Get a bike.”
Perth’s roadworks crews were suggested as consultants, having this week managed lights on Dundee Road and a lane closure on Dunkeld Road while also taking an interest in Crieff.
The Perthetic wishes Johnstone Burgh all the best, in both games, at the same time, and offers a spare goalkeeper who is mainly a coat.

Two ties in a row means we’re unbeatable or unwinnable. Depends who you ask.

Proud of the boys. Also, the pies were excellent.
