M90 Trees Between Broxden and Junction 10 Booked for Two-Week Haircut; Roundabout Says It Would Also Like ‘a Wee Trim Around the Edges’

Lane closures will be in place on the M90 between Broxden Roundabout and Junction 10 from tonight until 14 November, between 7.30pm and 6.30am, for landscape maintenance, according to the council’s roadworks list.
That means the trees and bushes along the motorway are getting their autumn trim, and Perth’s drivers have been reacting as they always do: by having opinions about trees.
“Those trees have been growing since I passed my test,” said a Bridge of Earn man. “They deserve a tidy-up. So do I, to be honest, but nobody’s closing a lane for me.”
A Perth hairdresser said two weeks for a trim was “very thorough”. “I can do a full restyle in an hour,” she said. “Mind you, my customers don’t have roots in the ground. Not most of them.”
The work is overnight, so daytime traffic should be unaffected. Broxden Roundabout, which has been the subject of a Perthetic petition, could not be reached for comment, but was seen going round in circles.

Two weeks for a trim. My barber does me in eight minutes and a chat about the football.

Good. Those trees have been looking a bit scruffy. Like my husband, who’s next.
