Budget Debate Day Two: Kinnoull Man Still Halfway Through Day One
Commons continues to argue over the Budget. Retired accountant vows to 'catch up by Christmas, or at least the Glendoick bit'.

MPs returned to the Commons today for more of the Budget debate, while a retired accountant from Kinnoull confirmed he was “still on page 14 of the Red Book, the bit with the graph that goes up”.
“I’m reading it properly,” he said, from behind a teapot. “Every footnote. Did you know there’s a footnote with a footnote? It’s like Russian dolls but with fiscal headroom.”
In the chamber, MPs took turns to describe the Budget as either the bold reset the country needs or a disaster in a red box. Several used the phrase “working people”, one used “hard-working families”, and an MP at the back was seen mouthing “is it lunch yet?”.
The Commons does not sit on Friday, with both Houses back on Monday. The Kinnoull man said he would use the break “to get to page 15”.
