KINROSS — As parliaments around the world debate independence for islands, residents of Kinross have been paying close attention, “purely academically, for a project”.
“Loch Leven has seven islands,” said a man folding up a small hand-drawn flag. “Some of them have castles. One has a priory. I’m not saying anything. I’m just saying they’ve got the infrastructure.” The council said it has no plans to devolve powers to any island “with fewer than three residents, some of whom are swans.”
