Ghost Sheet Hire, Letham (2003–2026): Lent Out White Sheets With Eyeholes, Never Got Them Back

Ghost Sheet Hire, a seasonal business run from a garage in Letham, has closed after twenty-three Halloweens.
The business hired out white bedsheets with eyeholes cut into them, for £2 a night, “for families who don’t want to cut up their own good sheets”. At its height, it had 140 ghosts in circulation.
Unfortunately, it had a returns problem. Ghosts went out on 31 October and did not come back. Some were found the following spring on washing lines across Perth, having been “absorbed into family use”.
By this year, the stock had fallen to a single sheet with three eyeholes, the third having been added by a child “for a third eye, for seeing ghosts”.
Ghost Sheet Hire is survived by a box of unclaimed deposits, and every bedding cupboard in Letham.

I think I’ve got one of yours in my airing cupboard. Sorry. It’s a very good sheet.
