PERTH — A glass bus shelter on Dunkeld Road reached an estimated 19°C during Thursday’s bright spells, prompting waiting passengers to remove scarves, loosen collars and, in one case, request a cold plunge.

“It was lovely,” said a woman from Letham. “Like a spa. With a timetable.” When the bus arrived, nobody wanted to get on.
