ABERNETHY — Fictional retired art teacher Morven Kidd, 69, has arranged her sandbags into the shape of a life-size Highland cow.

“I had 40 sandbags and a free afternoon,” she said. “It protects my door and it’s got a fringe.” The cow, named Hamish, has become a local landmark, though several tourists have tried to feed it.

The real story: Fictional.
