Scone Man Who Has Been in the Same Broxden Lane Since 2019 Says He’s ‘Nearly at the Turn’

Gordon Tullis-McBride, 54, entered the roundabout for a pint of milk during the last decade; describes current lane as 'home'.

BROXDEN — Gordon Tullis-McBride, a self-employed joiner from Scone, entered the inside lane of Broxden roundabout on a wet afternoon in March 2019 “just to nip round to the M90” and has been in it ever since.

“I’m nearly at the turn,” Gordon told Perthetic, waving from his window as he passed for the fourth time during the interview. “The lane markings change every time I go round. I’m not complaining. I’m just saying I’d like to go to Edinburgh at some point.”

Gordon has adapted well. His car contains a kettle, a sleeping bag and a framed picture of the M90 slip road “for motivation”. McDonald’s staff at the services know his order and pass it through the window on lap 3.

“Lorry drivers wave,” he said. “One of them’s been round with me since 2021. He’s called Davie. We’ve never spoken but I’d call him a friend.”

Gordon has signed the Perthetic petition to blow up the roundabout (satirically) “for the sake of the next man.”
