185 Out of 193 Pitlochry Residents Agree on Something, Restoring National Faith in Consultations
Community backs town hall plan by a landslide. Experts call a consultation where people actually agree 'extraordinary'.

In a heartening sign for local democracy, 185 of the 193 people who responded to a consultation on Pitlochry Town Hall backed its community future — the most united Highland Perthshire has been in living memory.
“It’s beautiful,” said a consultation expert. “Normally you get 40 per cent yes, 40 per cent no and 20 per cent complaints about the font.”
The hall’s new custodians plan to bring it back into active community use. Locals say they look forward to ceilidhs, coffee mornings and “at least one heated debate about chairs”.
Good news, well earned. Well done, Pitlochry.

No letters yet. The town is uncharacteristically quiet.
