PERTH — A pothole on a fictional Perth side street has been formally reclassified as a pond after the weekend’s rain, with two ducks having taken up residence.

“They seem settled,” said fictional resident Alan Gray. “They’ve made a nest from a traffic cone. I don’t want them evicted. I want them to have rights.”

A council spokesperson said the pothole would be filled “within the agreed timeframe”, which the ducks have interpreted as “never”.

The real story: Fictional.
