DUNKELD — The fictional Perthetic Cosiness Index has crowned Dunkeld the best place in Scotland to sit in a warm café and watch weather happen to other people.

“We scored highly for fires, scones and the sound of rain on old windows,” said a fictional judge. “We deducted a point because somebody’s dog took my seat.”

Visitors are advised to bring a book, a jumper and the emotional capacity for a third cup of tea.

The real story: Fictional.
