PERTH — Fictional council officials met on Monday to consider whether the area’s storm response would benefit from a dedicated committee, and agreed to form a committee to look into it.

“It’s very important we don’t rush,” said a fictional Head of Measured Responses. “By the time we’ve agreed terms of reference it’ll be spring, and the problem will have solved itself.”

A real thank-you is owed to the council roads teams, energy crews and volunteers who worked through the weekend. The committee is expected to name a sub-committee after them.

The real story: Fictional.

No letters yet. The town is uncharacteristically quiet.
