PERTHSHIRE — A small number of primary schools in Perth and Kinross were closed on Monday because of storm power cuts, prompting pupils across the area to stage what one fictional P6 described as “a respectful day of having a day off”.
“We did a lot of learning,” said fictional pupil Callum, 10. “I learned that if the telly’s off you can still eat crisps.” His mother confirmed he had also learned to count all the candles in the house, twice.
All other schools in the area were expected to open as normal after the October break. Parents at those schools were said to be “very happy for everyone else”.
