PERTH — The celebrity chimney of South Methven Street has issued a rider requesting no wind, no gusts and “absolutely no breezy”, in a move meteorologists called “ambitious for Scotland in October”.

Joking aside, the cordon is there for good reason in blustery weather. Please follow signs and diversions, and leave the stack to the professionals.

The real story: Real: cordon and exclusion zone in place around unsafe chimney (The Courier).
