ST ANDREWS — Hundreds of University of St Andrews students marked Raisin Monday by covering one another in shaving foam while dressed as sunflowers, Smurfs, mice and chemical elements, continuing a centuries-old tradition of thanking senior mentors.
“It’s mentorship,” said one foam-covered student. “With bubbles.”
Perth observers noted the tradition with envy. “We thank mentors with a nod at Broxden,” said a local. “If we can get into the right lane.”
