Gardeners blame 47 minutes of sun; council asked whether it needs planning permission.

BLAIRGOWRIE — A marrow on a Blairgowrie allotment is said to have grown “about a foot” during Thursday’s bright spells and is now too big to get through the gate.
“It just went,” said its grower. “Sun came out, it sort of stretched, and that was that. I’ve had to cancel the show. I might need a crane.”
A neighbour has suggested the marrow could be used as a temporary bridge during the A93 closure. Engineers have declined to comment.
