DUNKELD — News that a wildlife overpass in Colorado has cut animal collisions by 91% has been warmly welcomed by Perthshire’s deer, who have asked politely for a bridge of their own over the A9.
“We’d settle for anything,” said a stag through an interpreter. “A bridge. A tunnel. A dual carriageway. Even half of one. We’ve been waiting about as long as the humans have.”
Transport officials said wildlife crossings were “something we look at”. The deer said that’s what they said about the dualling.
