American Tourists at Scone Palace Demand to Know Where the Giant Scone Is
Palace adds 'we do not have a giant scone' to FAQs; café quietly bakes one anyway.

SCONE — Staff at Scone Palace have added a new entry to their visitor FAQs after a summer of questions from overseas visitors asking where “the giant scone” is kept.
“They assume it’s a big scone. We say it’s a palace, it’s pronounced ‘skoon’, and it’s where kings were crowned. They say ‘okay but where’s the scone?'” said a guide.
The café has now baked a large scone and placed it near the till. “It’s not official,” said a member of staff. “But they take a photo with it and leave happy, and frankly so do we.”

No letters yet. The town is uncharacteristically quiet.
