PITLOCHRY — The UK premiere run of CEILIDH, a new Scottish musical at Pitlochry Town Hall, has ended, but the town is facing “a significant number of residents who simply cannot stop dancing.”
“I came out of the matinee and did a Dashing White Sergeant all the way down Atholl Road,” said one audience member. “A man from Leeds joined in. We didn’t know each other. Now we’re godparents.”
Shopkeepers report customers spinning each other round the aisles, and one hotel breakfast halted for twenty minutes when a guest shouted “Strip the Willow!” and three tables of tourists stood up “as if they’d been waiting their whole lives.”
Doctors advise rest, fluids and no accordion music for 48 hours. “It’ll pass,” said one. “Unless someone puts on the Bluebell Polka. Then we’re all in trouble.”
The real story: CEILIDH the musical — UK premiere at Pitlochry Town Hall, 7–17 Oct 2026

The views expressed are those of the reader, and frankly that's on them.
No letters yet. The town is uncharacteristically quiet.
