Perth and Kinross’s Only Slip Road Closure Becomes Local Celebrity; Fans Queue to See It
Among 848 roadworks, just one slip closure. Experts call it 'the rarest roadwork in Scotland'.

Of Perth and Kinross’s 848 active roadworks, only one is a slip road closure, and it has become something of a local celebrity.
“I drove out specially to see it,” said a woman from Kinross. “You’ve got hundreds of closures, hundreds of lights, a few contraflows. But one slip closure? That’s like seeing a red squirrel.”
Roadwork enthusiasts — a small but dedicated community — say the slip closure is “the Stone of Destiny of roadworks”. One man has photographed it from three angles and is considering a calendar.
Officials say the slip closure is a routine job and will reopen as planned, after which its fame will presumably fade. Fans have asked for a plaque.
