A political ally of Brazil’s former president Jair Bolsonaro has blamed ChatGPT after a letter describing the wrong person as “president-elect” caused a row.
The excuse has been welcomed in Perth, where a North Muirton man said he had been blaming technology for his mistakes for years. “The text to my wife saying I’d be home at six? Autocorrect. I typed nine. The phone changed it. Then it changed the time I came in. It’s very powerful.”
A Letham woman said she now blames her smart speaker for ordering 24 rolls of kitchen towel, a garden gnome and a ukulele. “I never asked for the ukulele. I asked it to play some ukulele music. It took that as an instruction.”
Technology experts say it is increasingly common for people to blame artificial intelligence for human errors. Perth’s human errors say they are delighted to finally have some help.
The Perthetic would like to make clear that any mistakes in this article were made by a human, specifically a tired one, on a Friday.
