Following reports of wild wallabies in Perthshire, tourism operators are considering a “Perthshire Big Five” safari featuring the wallaby, the red squirrel, the osprey, the beaver and the man in hi-vis standing beside a set of temporary lights.
“The man in hi-vis is by far the easiest to spot,” said a guide in Aberfeldy. “Very reliable. Excellent sightings on the A827 through to February 2027.”
Visitors would be issued binoculars, a waterproof notebook and a laminated card explaining the difference between a wallaby and a dog in a fleece.
Experts remind the public not to approach any wildlife. That includes the man in hi-vis, who is on a tea break.

I saw one by the Loch Lomond road years ago and nobody believed me. Vindicated!

Wallaby, red squirrel, capercaillie, Nessie and a tourist who found parking in Pitlochry. That’s the Big Five.
