If a Town Hall Costs £1, How Much Is My Garage Worth? An Investigation
Our property columnist applies Pitlochry logic to the rest of Perthshire and is alarmed.

Following the news that Pitlochry Town Hall is to change hands for £1, I have been revaluing everything I own, and the results are frightening.
My garage, which has a leak, a slanted door and a mouse called Kenneth, is now worth approximately 4p. My shed, 1p. My car, by comparison, is a blue-chip asset, because it has fuel in it.
Let me be clear: the Pitlochry deal is a great thing for a community that will love that hall properly, and well done them. But the rest of us now live in a property market where a building with a stage is a pound and a Perth city-centre parking space is £2.50 an hour.
I have put my garage on the market at 50p. Kenneth comes free.

The views expressed are those of the reader, and frankly that's on them.
No letters yet. The town is uncharacteristically quiet.
