Clear skies and high pressure are expected to bring frost back to Perth from Sunday night, with temperatures around freezing, and the city’s ice scrapers have been recalled from the back of the cupboard, where they spent the summer behind a picnic blanket.
“I’m ready,” said one blue plastic scraper, found in a glovebox in Bridge of Earn between an old parking ticket and a single wine gum. “I’ve done my stretches. I know my edges.”
The de-icer industry is also on alert, as are the Perth men who insist on using a bank card instead “because it’s quicker” and then spend eleven minutes on one wing mirror.
Monday should be sunny and around 10°C, the kind of crisp autumn day Perth says it loves, provided it does not have to go out in it.

I use a CD for my windscreen. Fleetwood Mac, Rumours. Never fails.
