Transport Questions Held in Commons; Perthshire Listens Carefully in Case Anybody Says ‘Dualling’
Ministers face MPs on roads, rail and buses. Perth submits written question: 'Why is there a cone in my garden?'

Transport ministers took questions in the Commons today, and while much of Scotland’s transport is devolved, Perthshire watched closely in case someone, somewhere, said the word “dualling”.
“I had the telly on all morning,” said an Inveralmond commuter. “They talked about trains, they talked about buses, they talked about potholes. Nobody said Broxden. I’m not saying it’s a cover-up. I’m saying the roundabout has friends.”
The Perthetic submitted its own written question: “To ask the Secretary of State what assessment has been made of the cone in Mrs Docherty’s garden in Craigie, and whether it is permanent.” No answer is expected, which is normal.
Ministers said they were investing in better journeys. Perth replied that it would believe it when the Dunkeld Road lane reopens on Friday, as scheduled.
