KINFAUNS — Fictional enthusiast Ronnie Gilchrist, 66, has insisted for years that his garden shed is “technically seaworthy”. On Sunday, as the garden flooded briefly, he finally had the chance to prove it.

“She didn’t move an inch,” said Ronnie. “But she was ready to. You could feel it.” He has now painted ‘HMS Potting’ on the door and taken to saluting it each morning.

The real story: Fictional.
