SCONE — A fictional springer spaniel called Biscuit has spent Monday morning nudging stray wheelie bins back to their correct driveways, matching each one to its house number “with remarkable accuracy”.

“He got all eleven right,” said owner Liz Campbell. “He even put the recycling one back the right way round. My husband can’t do that.”

Biscuit has been offered a job by the council and a lifetime supply of sausages by the residents. He has accepted the sausages.

The real story: Fictional.

Letters to the Editor

The views expressed are those of the reader, and frankly that's on them.

  1. Biscuit is my dog and yes, he’s brilliant. He also ate a fence post. Swings and roundabouts.

    — Liz C., Scone, 26 October 2026
  2. Can Biscuit come to Luncarty? Ours are in a field. One’s in a tree.

    — Derek F., Luncarty, 26 October 2026
  3. Disagree with this article. Biscuit put MY bin at number 14. I’m number 41. Close though.
