It Is Now Dark at Lunchtime and I Am Thriving

Columnist embraces winter by going to bed at 6pm 'for the vibes'.

Teatime, apparently midnight.

People complain about the clocks going back. Not me. I see it as permission. Permission to put on my dressing gown at 4.30pm and say ‘well, that’s the day done’.

By November I aim to be in bed by six with a hot water bottle and a book I won’t read. By December I will simply hibernate, waking only for Christmas and the Courier.

If you see my lights on after seven, please call someone. Something will have gone very wrong.

The real story: Fictional.
