Curlers Smug as Only Sport Unaffected by Storm

PERTH — While football, rugby and golf were battered by Storm Boelo, Perth’s curlers enjoyed what one fictional skip called “a perfectly normal weekend on a perfectly normal sheet of ice”.
“Wind? Never heard of it,” said fictional curler Elspeth Wallace, 63, sweeping vigorously at nothing. “The only gale in here is when Douglas shouts ‘HARD!’.”
Curlers have offered to host other sports during Storm Chloe but have warned the footballers that sliding tackles will be taken very literally.
The real story: Fictional.
