KINROSS — A golf ball believed to have been sliced into the rough by a fictional visiting dentist in 2019 has been found in a Kinross garden after the weekend’s winds.

“It had his initials on it,” said fictional finder Moira Strachan. “And a little note saying ‘sorry’. I don’t know where the note came from. It’s been a weird weekend.”

Golf club officials said the ball’s journey of several miles counted as “the longest drive in Perthshire history” but would not count towards anyone’s handicap.

The real story: Fictional.
